Sketching Wild Birds

Artist Trevor Smith’s beautifully illustrated & practical guide to drawing & painting wild birds from life, covering technique, anatomy, composition and more.

We would like to congratulate Trevor Smith for his book Sketching Wild Birds which Bevere Vivis published last year and thank Bill Oddie for finding time to write a foreword.

The book is selling well and has already inspired many artists to tackle painting and drawing “Birds” in a more confident way. Please visit our web site, Sketching Wild Birds, devoted to the book…

“Lest We Forget” – 2nd Edition

Artist Fred Seiker’s remarkable book containing his paintings and memories of life as a POW during the building of the Thai-Burma Railway in WWII.

In 1995 for the VJ 50th Anniversary we staged a special exhibition in the Gallery of Fred Seiker’s watercolour sketches of atrocities carried out by the Japanese military during the building of the Thai-Burma railroad. They were all based on memory of his own experiences

After the exhibition Fred was urged to form a collection of these paintings so that the message would never be forgotten and Bevere Vivis Books Ltd were proud to publish “Lest We Forget”.

Due to the tremendous impact of this book a second edition has been printed. This contains additional text relating to the Author’s experience as a Japanese POW in World War II. This new edition costs £9.95 plus P & P and is now available from the gallery or from Lest We Forget’s own web site
